Valentine’s Day is only a couple of weeks away, so the time is now to start planning your Cape Cod Valentine’s Day plans. It is Cape Cod during the winter time, so there are fewer restaurants to choose from, and everyone on the Cape is looking for ways to show their special someone how much they mean to them. Avoid the last minute run to the convenience store for cheap candy and cards and check out our list of Cape Cod Valentine’s Day ideas to make your sweetheart feel special.
The key to a good start for your Cape Cod valentine’s day is getting your sweetheart flowers for your special date. Sounds old fashioned, but what is Valentine’s Day without flowers? Skip the sad single rose from the drug store or generic bundles from the big box grocery store and stop by one of Cape Cod’s florist shops. Right off of Route 6 exit 11, if you turn towards Harwich you will come upon a sign for a florist stand, The Floral Factory. Stop and pick up one of Greta Ribb’s one of a kind assortments your valentine will adore.
On Route 28 in Harwich just over the Chatham line, you will find Thayer’s flower shop. At Thayer’s you can either choose your own arrangement piece by piece or give their florists some ideas to help you create the perfect bouquet for your date. Bloom Florist is located in Orleans on Main Street allows you to either shop in the store of even order your flowers online ahead of time.
A spa day is not just for the ladies. Get a couples massage and spend the day getting pampered. Letting your hair down and relaxing for a couple of hours in a calm environment where you are taken care of is the perfect way to spend your day together. Chatham Bars Inn has a beautiful spa, and often offers specials for the off season and specific times of the year.
The Crowne Pointe Historic Inn has the Shui Spa which not only has licensed massage therapists but also a mineral tub, sauna and steam room which are available for use with every treatment. The Beach House Spa at Ocean Edge has an array of services inspired by Cape Cod. There are even special prices for Ocean Edge Club members.
Who says that Valentine’s Day has to be heavy and serious? If your valentine is not into the mushy typical Cape Cod Valentine’s day date, take them out for a game night! Check out the Ten Pin Eatery for a round of laser tag, bowling or spend some time at the arcade. When it is time to grab some food and drinks, there is a restaurant and bar right inside.
The Orleans Bowling Center located on Route 6A in Orleans has a restaurant that serves lane side if your sweetheart likes candlepin bowling. The Brewster House of Pizza bar has dart boards and an assortment of games to play such as giant Jenga and giant beer pong if you are looking for a really laid back evening. If you’re looking for a challenge, check out one of the escape rooms. There is an escape room at Ten Pin Eatery, but there is also Riddle Escape Room Cape Cod located in Mashpee which has generated some buzz.

The Cape Cod Online and even Facebook are also good places to look and see which venues will be hosting your favorite bands. If you have a favorite location, such as the Harvest Gallery Wine Bar in Dennis or the Barley Neck Inn in Orleans, check their live music calendars in advance so you get there in plenty of time to dance the night away with your sweetheart.
Traditionally, Valentine’s Day centers around the large heart shaped box filled with chocolate. Don’t make a run for the drug store, Cape Cod has plenty of locally made chocolates and candies that will really make the day special for your valentine.
The Chatham Candy Manor located in downtown Chatham and the Hot Chocolate Sparrow located off of Main Street in Orleans are two of the area’s favorite chocolatiers. You can find the traditional heart shaped box filled with their homemade chocolates or step outside of the heart shaped box and find a one of a kind treat your love will adore.
